Please find below details of each event, and it's approximate start time. Rules will be explained further on the day.

Event Time Details Tie break
Golf 09:00 Nine holes of strokeplay golf are to be played at Abbey View golf course, behind Westminster Lodge, St.Albans. No handicaps. Lost balls incure a one stroke penalty, with balls being dropped in the rough a club's length from the edge of the trees (assuming that's where the ball went missing)! Balls can be moved from ground under repair or near staked trees without penalty. Matchplay result will be used between tied competitors, then most parred holes. If this is tied still, a putting competition will be used. After matchplay and parred holes, contestants tied for 5th, 6th or 7th place will share the points.
Gym tests 11:00 Total number of press-up in one minute, combined with total number of step-ups in one minute. For a valid press-up the contestant must touch the adjudicaters fist with his chest and then push back up to fully extend his arms. Knees must not touch the ground.
A valid step up is from a starting position with both feet on the ground. The contestant must then step onto the tree stump one foot at a time and then step back to the ground. Both feet cannot be out of contact with either the floor or tree at the same time.
Tied contestants will share the points.
Basketball 11:30 Total baskets achieved from eight static shots in different positions around the basket. In the event of a tie, there will be a 'shoot off'. Contestants tied for 5th, 6th or 7th place will share the points.
100m 12:00 An approximate 100m sprint. Video evidence will determine final positions.
Football 12:15 Each contestant has six attempts to dribble around two traffic cones and then score. When the player has gone around the last cone, the goalkeeper may come off his line and try and save. Each competitor must go in goal once for every other competitor's attempt. The goalkeeper is responsible for retreiving the ball from the shot he faced and placing it back at the starting point. In the event of a tie, the faster competitor will win. The clock starts when the first ball is touched, and ends when the competitor has taken their last shot and run back to the start line.
800m 12:45 An approximate 800m - competitors must race around a distant tree and back again. Video evidence will determine final positions.
Continuous cricket 13:00 Each competitor has one innings in which they stand in front of the wicket and are bowled at underarm. Runs are scored purely on how many times the batsman runs around a nearby traffic cone and back to his crease - there are no boundaries. If the batsman strikes the ball they must run, no matter how lightly the ball is struck*. The fielders must return the ball to the bowler who can bowl as soon as he is ready, without waiting for the batsman to be in his crease. The batsman can only be bowled or caught out, there are no other ways of taking a wicket. The fielders will rotate their positions around the field every 10 balls. When bowling the ball can bounce no more than once before reaching the stumps. If it does, it is a no-ball and the batsman does not have to run.
* Honesty is required from batsmen in situations where there is light contact!
If possible, someone will time each innings. In the event of a tie, the most runs-per-minute will decide positions.
Darts 15:00 Round The Clock. Each competitor throws three darts to decide the starting order, with whoever scores highest going first. Each competitor must then hit each number or the board starting from one, going through to 20, 25 and bull. When each number is hit they progress on to the next number. Doubles move the player forward two numbers, and trebles move forward three, except on 19 and 20, where they can only move you to 25. If a player hits their desired number with all three darts they throw again. The winner is the first player to hit bull, but play will continue to find the remaining positions. There cannot be a tie.
Pool 16:00 An eight-ball pool league - everyone plays everyone once. Games will be played according to the English Pool Association's official rules*. The league is scored as 3 points for a win and no points for a loss. One bonus point is available if a) you win and your opponent pots one or fewer balls, or b) you lose but have potted all your object balls.
* The main difference in these rules and our normal games is that from the break four object balls must hit the cushion if no balls are potted, and in a normal shot either the cue ball or object ball must strike a cushion if no ball is potted. There are two shots on the black at all times, unless a foul is committed when both players are on the black, in which case it is only one shot.
If two or more players are tied on points, a mini-league will be used to determine results between those competitors.
